Stampf!

„Stampf!“ Is a duo consisting of Rübezahl from Germany and Malikah from Taiwan. The group formed 2017 in Kaoshiung, Taiwan when they were both staying in the Huangpu New Village. Starting in 2018 they cycled from Germany to Taiwan, which took them one and a half year. On the way they played concerts, collaborated with local artists and had a residence in Iran where they built musical instruments from old bicycle parts.

Rübezahl is an electronic musician, that builds his own instruments and also plays the Xaphoon, a weird mixture between a flute and a saxophone. He also uses extensions and effect proccessing to further enhance the sound of this instrument. In recent years he is also playing beats from his gameboy.

Malikah is a tap dancer and vocalist from Taiwan. After studying the tap in the capitol of tap, New York City, Malikah is now travelling around the world and experimenting with all kind of musicians and sounds. Besides tap dance and her voice, she also is playing a tank drum and various surprising sounds. She likes to take found objects on site and implement them in the performance.

Together they bring up a funky melange of experimental soundscapes, improvised rhythmic tap patterns and some wild performance that can be described as unique and deliciously entertaining.
